Questionnaire Interpretation

Looking at our answers from our questionnaires, we have interpreted the answers and put them into pie charts so that they are easy to read.

Do you prefer a thriller with an unrestricted or restricted narration?

 

 



From this we can see that restricted narrations are obviously the more favoured type of narration, which is very useful and reassureing to know since we have done this for our film.

What director do you think influenced the genre the most?

Looking at the results, we can see how alfred hitchcock was said to bhe the most influenced director of the thriller genre. This information can help us get an insight into what it takes to make a good thriller by researching Hitchcock films and how thery have been constructed.

Whats the best age rating for a thriller?

This was quite an interesting one. We can see that the majority has voted 15+ rather than 18+. This is so that the younger generation of film watchers will be able to enjoy the film and makes it open to a more accessable audience. With this knowledge we can make our film more enjoyable for a wide audience and avoid unnessesary violence or explicity content.

What makes a great thriller?

From this we can see how a good plot seems to be most vital to creating a great thriller film. With this information we can interpret pur film and make sure that what we include is engaging  and interesting for people to watch.

Mainstream vs indie

When looking at whether thrillers are better off on a mainstream or indie production, we got quite mixed results. As you can see, a lot of people were just as unsure as they were sure that mainstreasm was the way forward. Regardless we have decided to go for a more indie film since it is an easier procduction to carry off and is more favoured within our group.

Multi generic or not?

When looking at whether a film should be multi generic or not, our results seemed to show that a thriller is much better off when its just a straight up thriller rather than mixing it with a comedy or adventure genre for example. This is useful as we agree with this as well and think that our film is very effective sticking to the main conventions of a thriller.
